Last year we posted a shameless plug for the annual DRI drug and device conference.
Here we go again. We were tipped off by J. Carter Thompson that there's still time to sign up for this year's meeting in New Orleans next week. Here's a link that will direct you to a brochure and to a list of nearby hotels in addition to the convention hotel.
We've taken a look at the program, and in addition to the preemption and warning staples that we would expect, we were particularly interested in the session about what to do when the plaintiff loses, destroys, consumes, or otherwise makes the product at suit disappear. We've seen some pretty lousy law recently letting plaintiffs get away with this type of conduct, so that presentation seems particularly timely.
